A Game of Honour is an album of versatile hybrid tracks that take the listener through the wins and losses, highs and lows, the heartbreak and euphoria of the game and risking everything to win it. Combining Strings and Horns recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios with cutting edge synthesizer pulses, pads and sound design elements, Hybrid Sports has real scale and heroism without losing sight of what’s at the tender heart of it all – a deep love of the game.
01 Never Submit:
A determined hybrid cue that rises from pulsing synth texture, through yearning orchestral swells into a heroic climax surrounded by a halo of choir – our heroes will never give up.
02 A Game of Honour:
An inspirational hybrid cue with a driving pulsing synth bed and epic orchestral strings and brass that speaks to what it means to be winners, and finding the courage to be great.
03 The Spirit Within:
Opening with an extended tutti strings section which is then joined by epic drums, powerful brass and transcendent choir, this cue is steeped in quiet nobility, conjuring images of the players, standing strong together after the game is over.
04 Head and Heart:
A reflective, interval cue that evokes a moment of quiet amidst the chaos where one person makes a choice that could change everything.
05 The Training Phase:
An uptempo hybrid cue which builds from a suspenseful subtle bubbling synth bed all the way to triumphant brass and epic strings – learning what it takes to be the best.
06 The Fightback:
A determined hybrid cue with driving synth bass tones, plucked arpeggios and electronic drums that bloom into epic strings and brass as the underdog finds the strength to fight back.
07 Winning Streak:
An uptempo hybrid cue with a strong electronic drum backbeat, fast staccato strings and brass stabs – we’re making a comeback.
